The Baja Is Back: A Race Against Blindness Offers One Final Chance to Win $350,000 Adventure Truck Prize

The professionally built adventure truck will help raise funds for childhood blindness research and cures

GILBERT, Ariz., Aug. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- A Race Against Blindness today announced the return of one of the charity’s most popular fundraiser vehicles: the Rossmönster Baja LX Adventure Truck.

The Baja is back after the original fundraiser winner, Jeff W. from Nebraska, chose the $250,000 cash alternative instead of the vehicle plus $100,000. That decision created an unexpected opportunity for A Race Against Blindness to offer the Baja to its community one final time and generate additional funding for research.

Running through Labor Day, September 7, the Final Chance Baja Adventure Truck fundraiser features a prize package valued at approximately $350,000, including:

  • A professionally built Rossmönster Baja LX Adventure Truck, a four-season expedition camper designed for year-round travel
  • $100,000 cash

“The Baja captured the imagination of our community the first time around, so when Jeff W. chose the cash-only option, we knew we had an incredible opportunity to bring it back,” said Dr. Steve Johnston, co-founder of A Race Against Blindness. “We believe life is meant to be lived, adventures are meant to be taken, and memories are meant to be made,” Johnston said.

Professionally built by Rossmönster, the Baja combines the capability of an adventure vehicle with the comfort and thoughtful design of a four-season camper. Built for both everyday travel and extended off-grid adventures, this truck gives its owner the freedom to explore comfortably.
